Three Peaks Challenge - An Intrepid Undertaking
At 9.03 am on Sunday 8th May 2005, the last of the 10 walking members of the group undertaking the Eyam Half Marathon Three Peaks Challenge reached the main party at the bottom of Ben Nevis. This was the culmination of several months of talk, preparation and finally walking over the weekend of 7th and 8th of May. The Challenge involves walking Snowdon, Scafell and Ben Nevis in 24 hours - and this includes the travelling time! Our intrepid party achieved this with 23 minutes to spare.
This was a tremendous achievement which was carried out in the best of spirit and with great determination on the part of everyone. The Challenge raised approximately £5,000 for the Eyam Half Marathon Committee and all concerned are grateful to those that sponsored the event so generously.
