The first Eyam Half Marathon was held in 1993 and it has, except for 2001 due to the foot and mouth outbreak, been held annually ever since. The event and other fund-raising activities are organised by a group of enthusiasts in the village, very few of whom are actively involved in running.
ALL funds raised by the Eyam Half Marathon Committee go towards supporting village organisations and local cancer care charities, and to date in excess of £100,000 has been raised and distributed. This would not have been possible without all those many people who give so generously of their energy, time, talent or property to help ensure the success of the event and our fund-raising activities.
